Piecrust Tea Table
Walnut.  Diameter 33"
Tilt top table design reached its pinnacle with the Philadelphia Chippendale piecrust tables built around 1760-1780.  This Queen Anne style reproduction is made as the originals were, with the center scooped out of a solid top, leaving the raised molding.  The top is mounted on a "bird cage" which allows it to rotate on the pedestal as well as tilt upright.  The legs are dovetailed into the pedestal.  Also available with carved claw and ball legs.
